St Marks River ?

Post by OneTripletail »

Thinking about chasing some trout up the St Marks River Sunday. Is there a closer place to put in than the fort? What about some of those back roads north east of Riverside Dr? I would like to find some of the deep holes around and north of the Power Plant. I know it's going to be cold, but I need to get a hook wet. Any suggestions?

Not sure about other remote launches but you can always put in at Newport bridge and let that north wind hustle you downstream and the incoming morning tide will ease your return trip upstream. :P

That might be a good idea. Will the reds and trout come up that far?

I think that the reds and trout travel pretty far up the river. I do not have the latest intel but it's not really that far down to the power plant from the bridge. It'll be a good scouting trip for you.
