Shell Mounds (Cedar Key) 3/10/18
While here in Cedar Key for my wife's birthday weekend, I headed out to the Shell Mounds. I've caught lot's of small trout here before, and that was the story again today. There was almost no tidal swing, and the water temperature started in the low 50's and made it up to 62 by afternoon. I caught 11 smaller trout, with maybe 3 or 4 over 15, but not by much. I caught them on tourist rigs, paddletails, one on topwater, and a couple on Rip n Slash. Speaking of Rip n Slash, I used it to catch the 25 inch beast below off an oyster bar at about 8:30. It made my day!

Nice red Ed and great report! Tim and I fished Saturday, but I am holding off the report for here until after the tournament we are fishing this coming Saturday...lol!
I will get to Shell Mound and fish it this year. Really looks like a nice area to fish.
