Yates Creek - 5-6-2018

Met Mark from Ocala and Daniel from Moody AFB at Walter B's at 6:15 am. A few other folks had mentioned fishing Yates Creek on Sunday, but we pretty much had the whole area to ourselves. The weather and the surface conditions were ideal. But the bite wasn't as good as we had hoped and we covered a lot of water to find the fish. Pinfish seemed everywhere. We did find a few areas with mullet activity.

Daniel ended up with 5 trout and 1 black sea bass. Mark caught 8 trout, 1 black sea bass and a very mad (as he put it...lol) large sailcat. I got lucky and caught 1 flounder, 6 trout and 6 reds. Caught the last red (longest for the day) while trolling back to the creek with Daniel and Mark. It hit the paddletail in barely over 2 feet of water. :D Another good day on the water with friends!

Thanks for the report Steve. Very nice catches for a slow bite. Winds seem to be trying to die down, and sea grasses should be growing. Look forward to next weekend.
