Took the wife on her maiden fishing voyage from the kayak. Decided that Keaton Beach would be an easy place to launch and maybe catch a few. Put in from beach (never launched here before) at about 10 am, high tide was at about 2 - 2:30, so I figured we would fish the last of incoming. Fished the area north/northwest of the beach from 3 - 5 feet of water. Didn't catch much but did catch a gag grouper (too small) about 300 yds from shore in about 3 feet. Definitely a first for me. Been fishing Keaton since, well, seems like forever, and have never caught a grouper on the flats. Anyway, didn't bring home dinner, but did have a great time. Little sea turtle checked the Jackson out for about 5 minutes. Probably going back Saturday morning (well, maybe Yates) the scalloping navy hits the water Saturday, so keep an eye out for the boats 8-O

Here are a few pics

I really like the turtle photo. It looks like she is keeping an eye on a big pile of gold and jewels at the bottom of the pic. Thanks for posting, fishindawg!
