Met Ed and Sven at Crumbs at 6:15am on Saturday. The plan was to launch on the south side of the bridge and make it into Chaires Creek before the negative low tide. We made it in without having to get out of the kayaks. The morning weather started off great. Around 10:30 it started to drizzle and an occasional light rain as a few rain bands passed through. We got pretty wet...lol! Finally the sun came out after midday and we did manage to dry out.
Sven was the only person keeping fish. He did manage a nice red around 23 inches that he kept. Pretty sure he caught another dink red and around 10 trout. Ed managed 15 trout in all with no reds. I got lucky and ended up with 6 reds and 16 trout. 8-9 of my trout were in the 17-19 inch range with the rest being smaller. I did manage 2 reds over 20 inches.
A great day with good friends on the water.
