Hickory Mound 7/31

Post by yardman32317 » Fri Aug 07, 2020 9:08 am

Due to moving to South Georgia and all it's been too long not getting on the water in my kayak. Put in at Hickory on a rising tide, paddled out to meet a nice 5 mph head wind and started paddling west. Got to my start point and saw too much grass for top water so stayed with a popping cork. Caught a mess of reds, two good enough to take home, and a slew of trout, kept two nice ones. Couldn't have asked for a better day and can't wait to get back out there again.

Good catching, yardman32317! Haven't seen you in a few years. The grass at Hickory Mound has been awful lately.

That’s great information there. I like the part where you went with a popping cork in the floating grass. I’ll have to try that soon.
