Geez, I never kept count, but over 50 I'd say between '82 and '91. Almost all west coast. Best shows for me were Red Rocks in '87.
Band played as if they knew it would be their last visit to the venue (and it was).
Followed onto Telluride where they sounded TERRIBLE. All in all, it was a great summer tour.
Saw my last show in '91. In fact, it was a sad closing of a great chapter in my life. The band was just going thru the motions (Jerry seemed nearly comatose up there), the venue was huge and the crowd was... different. The scene had clearly changed. More than I could take and never went to another show.
I do miss the boys though...
And since you said 'shows' instead of concerts, ya gotta be a head. Care to share?

One of the neat things about the shows was meeting like minded people from all over the country.
Made my girlfriend take in some shows before I could 'pop' the question. Had to make sure ya know!
First thing she did was call a girlfriend to ask, "what should I wear?"
I hadn't bothered to tell her it wasn't gonna be your typical concert. 15 years later and she still loves me... and The Dead!
