Piney Z Easter

Post by Yakmanjr »

Went out to Piney Z after all the Easter festivities. Fished for about an hour and a half off the finger with the boat ramp. One decent bass landed and one that threw the hook after a nice aerial tail walk. Looking forward to the warmer weather this week.

Giving up on the yak? That north wall yesterday would have provided a nice wind shadow.

Oh no, not giving up. Just limited on time lately. I usually only get a few days a month to spend half a day or longer on the water. At other times I have an hour or two here or there. Can't justify taking the yak for a measly hour or so. Although, with this warmer weather and longer daylight hours after work, that should change how much time I've got and plan to start Taking it out more

There's a park at the launch to piney z. You'll need a cart.

The landing on "Road to the lake" works for lower Lafayette. It's a great place to get your mind off work. You'll have miles of paddling, no boats, terrible fishing, and smelly water.

I searched and found that fish ruler, Plano expandable Bump Board, at Academy Sports for $9.99. It doesn't have the numbers a different color but you can use a magic marker on them.

The lack of contrast with the numbers is a real pain if you plan on taking pictures. Yakman bought the decal at Bass Pro and put over the top.
