new at fly fishing

Post by fishinfrenzi15 »

have been wanting to learn for a good while. my grandpa gave me his old fly rod and reel for christmas and ive been practicing out in the yard. i can throw decent now, but i still need a whole lot of work. i dont wanna start out fly fishin from our boat on the flats or anything, so anyone know of some good lakes out in the national forest that hold some decent bass or bream or anything? ill be headin up the rivers sooner or later to some good spots that i know for holdin fish....but as far as the lakes go im pretty inexperienced. any help would be much appreciated!!!

also, any tips for a newbie fly fisherman (experienced fisherman though) would be great too!!!!

Trout are just as easy to catch as bream and you will always have the chance of catching a red, mack, or most certainly a ladyfish if you are out there. No need to start out sight fishing for reds. Just go to your favorite flat and throw a chartreuse clouser.
