mylar tubing poppers

Post by bk »

whipped up 2 redfish / trout, and 1 bass pencil poppers for the fly rod using some mylar tubing i picked up.
pretty simple and effective when the fish are hitting the topwater.

super glue popper blank to hook.
slide mylar tubing over popper.
tie off at the front and back.
apply stick-on eyes.
coat with 5 minute epoxy.
done.

Very nice. Are you buying the popper blanks or crafting your own?

bought em. they come in various sizes either with or without hooks. i typically buy the hooks serparate, but in this case, i bought the combo. i think it was like 10 popper blanks with hooks for $7 bucks. Add the mylar, epoxy, and eyes and you're still under $1 a piece. - assuming your time is worth nothing. :D
