i went outside to practict my fly casting this evening and the fly line came back through the guides when i pointed the rod up and the fly was cought on the first guide so i bent the rod over with my hand to pull the line back out and when my hand was almost there snapppppp!!
Can you buy a tip for a fly rod at Kevins so that i don't have to buy a whole new rod
Is that the 8 weight that you broke like a twig? Man you got skills. Seriously though, contact BPS and see if they will cover it. I don't think that you can find part of a fly rod that will work worth a darn.

I took my broken rod to Kevins and they got it fixed for $12. Lost about 6 inches off the flyrod. Had to watch the way I worded that. :) I have not tried it yet but hope to soon.
I am looking for a good 8 wt if anyone wants to make be a good deal.

When you cast, did the popper hit the rod at all? Looks like there's a chip there. If that's the case, either you're not getting enough line speed and/or you're stopping the rod and not following through. Either way can turn a popper into a wrecking ball for your fly rod. Fly rods are very brittle and even if they lose 4 inches, they never cast right again. Go see Lin and pick yourself a good TFO Pro Series. Send a broken rod and 25 bucks and you get a brand new one again (At least that's how much it was when I broke my 8wt.).
