Gurglers are a quick and easy tie for both salt and fresh water fish. Tied up a bunch on some size 12 umpqua U001 dry fly hooks. I find that the gurgler doesn't twist the line as much as a spider or beetle with rubber legs. I've seen many variations for the tail and underbody. For this tie, I used hackle for the underbody and left it long, the folded the foam over it. I add some floatant to the hackle underbody - this seems to help it look buggy longer. Though not visible in the pics, the tail is a couple strands of ringneck tail feathers.
