Lost Everything at Mexico Beach

Post by GatorMD97 »

I haven’t been around much lately as we bought a house over in Mexico Beach. I’ve been doing most of my fishing over there. We lost everything including my 2 Hobies and every piece of fishing equipment I’ve ever owned. I guess it’s all just stuff but I’m really having a hard time coming to grips with the situation. Picture of what’s left and the last time I saw then after strapping them down Monday. I was really looking forward to fall fishing with my brother in law...I just talked him into buying a couple Hobies from the Wilerness Way. 😔

That's terrible, can't imagine going thru anything like this, sorry for your loss. My family spent allot of time in Mexico Beach, it was a special place. Have you been able to get back over there yet?

OMG Austin, that's just about the worst thing I can think of short of losing a life. I hope they get everything cleaned up and you will be able to rebuild soon. In the meantime, you are more than welcome to use my Revo and tackle anytime you want. I am very happy that you and your family were elsewhere at the time of the storm.

That’s horrific. I put my Hobie in my living room before the storm so I feel your remorse.

Seen this posted on a FB forum “Mexico Beach Fishing”, a guy named Ryan Kelly. Look it up or tell me and I’ll try and contact him for you. Least of your worries but it’s something

“I have a hobie fishing Kayak ....plz look up hull #
Or describe the contents
I have it in safe place whenever you can get it“

Austin, I was just looking thru the Mexico Beach Fishing FB page to see if I could send the guy pictures of your kayaks. Someone named Stephen Gainous has already sent the guy pictures of your kayaks, Stephen knows you, so try and contact him.

REALLY sorry to hear about your loss. I hope insurance, etc. can help replace some of the "stuff", though it can't replace the memories that give the "stuff" significance. :(

Thanks for the kind words. It looks like we have located the PA 14, hope to get it back in the next week or two.
