Spring Warrior trip
Well finished up my basement floors and just needed a dose of saltwater to cleanse the soul. Drove down from the big ATL thursday morn and put in at SW with a moderate NNE wind. The clarity of the water was probably normal after a big storm surge, but all I caught was a 19 redfish on a gold spoon while trolling and a toadfish while trolling also. After trying all the normal spots and using the Pro Cure I tossed everything in my arsenal. Even the creeks were not kind to me that day! Friday brought a light NNE wind I caught a big ladyfish 24" So i was on my way to a trash can slam, with another toad in my future this one while trolling a yozuri, then the east wind and the waves picked up and I headed back into creeks to try that again. I caught a fat 19" trout and it sure was go seeing that yellow mouth again! Back at the fish camp having a cold one or two a pair of bald eagles stopped by to check the creek for fish scraps. Overall had a great time in the salt again, just need to get down more often

Re: Spring Warrior trip
Looks like a good time, Jeff! Sorry I couldn't make the connection this trip. I hope you get to come down and fish the Taylor County tournament next month. If you can get past the looks, those toadfish are actually very good to eat. Just watch out for the 13 poisonous spines on top. They are related to lionfish. We used to serve monkfish in the restaurant, which is even uglier than that, at $40 a plate.
Hope to see Y'all soon!

Re: Spring Warrior trip
Nice report Jeff. I've been fishing Taylor County lately to prep for the tournament in a few weeks, so I haven't been posting any reports...lol! 4 of us went this past Saturday and had a great time. I managed 34 trout, 6 flounder and 5 reds. Everyone in the group caught fish. Might be getting to thermal bottom weather for launching soon...lol!
