tent camping in Panacea area

Post by tsgosnell »

Looking for a place to tent camp for the weekend in the Panacea area. I see there are RV parks, anyone know if they allow tents? Wanting to fish the area for a few days. I'm a backpacker so even good spots to primitive camp will be fine too.
Thanks,
Scott

Hi Scott,
I'm not sure if tent camping is allowed at Holiday Campground at the corner of HWY 98 and Surf Rd (at the foot of the Ochlocknee Bay Bridge) in what is part of Panacea but actually considered Ochlocknee Bay.
The Ochlocknee River State Park off 319 past Sopchoppy is wonderful! Access to the Ochlocknee and Dead Rivers and close to Turkey Point, Alligator Point areas.

Have fun!! Great time of year for camping!
