I have a chipless spare key in the pocket of my lifejacket. It stays there. If I unlock the car with it, I put back in the lifejacket before I do anything else. It won't start the car but it doesn't cost $50 to replace. The lifejacket is the last thing into the car before I drive away from the ramp.

I like having a key pad on the Escape. I can leave my keys in the console.

I have 2 sets of keys after locking myself out about 3 years ago. 1 set around my neck, another set in the watertight box with the wallet and phone. The set in the watertight box has a house key and a spare key to my work car.

At least I am in good company...my wife did not find much humor in coming from Monticello to the Lighthouse to unlock my truck. 8O I now clip a set of truck and house keys to the boat and also keep the regular set in a watertight box with my wallet. I also always roll the truck windows down first.

I have started rolling down the windows before opening the door  . It turns out on my van, if you use the key to unlock and hold it in the unlock position for about two seconds, the windows roll down (up works similarly) without having insert key in ignition. I sometimes don't do this if bugs are on a rampage though.

Guess I'd rather deal with the bugs on a rampage than my wife in a similar disposition.

Off tackle what would be the best go to Rod & Reel set up. I still fish with a baitcaster on a Med. Heavy rod. Suggestions? Also line suggestions? Thx

I fish with two baitcasters with m/h rods and one medium 7' spinning rod with a popping cork. I see no need at all to change this setup. Unless you want to add a heavier set up to chase tarpon/sharks.

If you're comfortable with the bass rod setup- rock it. That's what I do.

7'-8' medium action one piece rod and Shimano Stradic 3000 reel, or Penn Battle. String it with 15lb power pro.

Thanks for the info. I have been using spiderwire on mine for years. Have never tried PowerPro. Might give it a try.

What is the best leader that you all use. I still so new to saltwater fishing. I have been using a 18" black wire leader. Should I use something else? Thanks

Thanks Jeff. I figured you would answer pretty fast :D Is there a certain length? Or does it matter?
