Fast EP tie

Hook
Add full length clump on bottom
Add another on top
Trim
Fold back hold with a few wraps
Tie what you just cut back in
Fold back and hold with a few wraps
Adjust bottom fibers around hook then comb
Trim
Add flash, 3 strands a side, fold over to make 6 a side
Super glue eye in places, you are done
Go fishing.

That a Varivas or Gamakatsu hook? I think it's a Gama.

Nice step-by-step, bearsfan. I've been meaning to get into tying my own flies and wondered what kind of vise you had or what you would recommend?

Hook does not matter, that is a Gama SL12S 4/0. But, I bet that thing would look super slick on an owner. I am tying on a Renzetti Traveler which I purchased when I was about 13yrs old. It is now 13 years old. I love it, if I had the funds and the need to buy a new vise it would be a Dyna-King Barracuda. Thanks for all of the positive feedback everyone.

I finally ended up with the right colors for the fly. Tied a couple up and then came back to refresh my memory. I tied them upside down (black over purple) - oh well. I will probably just finish them off (flash and eyes and a bit more trimming) and then give them a shot anyway. Thanks again for the step by step.
