while confined to the warmth of the house, i decided to try some small crease flies for bream and bass.

Image

#8 2xlong hook.
2-3mm sheet foam
marabou tail with peacock herl on 4 of em.
various color markers and colored nail polish
epoxy.

basically, i wrap some thread from front to back. tie in the tail material. leave the thread at the back. then i cut the sheet foam to shape. fold it over the hook and hit the seem with super glue. instead of leaving the foam loose and straight at the back like a typical crease fly, i use the thread that's still tied on at the back, and capture the foam and work the thread up the body a little bit. This helps keep the ass end of the fly down. Then i marker / color to taste, then hit it with the "5 minute mess".

Actually, kind of fun to tie / create these and they are quite effective for bream and bass when their feeding near the topwater.

Nice job...Would put money with middle fly on the right side.

Nice looking Popper's, although I doubt everybody would consider those as "small". I have avoided the epoxy as long as possible but I think my next couple of pattern may move me towards the sticky stuff.

Those little guys are cute as heck. Love 'em!
Me thinks you should name them and make a little FCKA Crease Fly comic strip. :20
