Salmon on a fly

Post by abcarias »

Went fishing in Alaska with my son this month. He had not caught a Salmon on any kind of tackle before but managed to bring one in on a fly.

Very nice humpies (pink salmon). They appear to be very fresh from the salt. Makes me wish I had planned a trip.

Just for giggles I slid the yak into Jackson last night. I was thinking this couldnt be fun anymore after fishing Alaska and Nova Scotia this summer. I was wrong about that. Each place is special in its own right. The trick is avoiding the yahoos with big boats and staying out of the sun (in Fla). Oh ...and always take your 3wt ;-).
