Pretty close Wade, but the end screws on and off manually, doesnt pull down and release like the one in the vid. also at the other end there is a cap and inside are two sewing needles,

I guess i can always use it to sew up bk when we have to surgically remove a hook,

btw, those are great vids, thanks

I looked on Google and only found review citing need for directions with the tool. I emailed umpqua for guidance. We'll see.

You can tie the same not as shown on the video by using a hemastat. The tool you have is most interesting. Will love to hear what the manufacturer says. If it has needles, they may be intended to be used to tie the leader to the fly line. You poke a hole with the needle then thread the line through it then tie a nail knot. The resulting knot threads thru the middle of the line rather than to one side.

Response form Umpqua .......... nothing. Pretty disappointing actually. A knot without instructions is like a fishing report without pictures - almost worthless.

A tool designed to sew up BK would sell like hotcakes around here.

Maybe you put the nettles into the end and use the tool to untie wind knots. That would be a nice thing to have!
