Lake Talquin hatch

I was at Coe Landing on Lake Talquin yesterday afternoon. There is a hugh hatch of Mayflies, or something similar, all over the place. The fish were constantly popping them on the top. I tried a Western Coachman, a few wet flies and a popper. Just before the thunder started, I managed to catch one on the popper but then had to leave. I would sure like to get back out there to find what they are wanting. It was exciting!

These flies are hugh. They were hanging on the vegetation above the water making it appear completely black. I cannot imagine tying one to match them but I am sure they will bite something. I think I will try a Wooly Bugger next time I go out there.

Have any of you had luck on catching bream during these hatches?

Look for an Accardo Blue Gill Special. Glow Bug is a good color.
