Fished SGI state park today. Wind was east and fairly strong to start, but moderated somewhat by afternoon. Water is still dirty - I thought it would have cleared more than it has. Got a nice 21" trout on a chart/pink/white clouser at Rattlesnake Cove, as well as a couple of short flounder, a couple of black sea bass (first on the fly for me) and the usual pinfish and pigfish. I also got my first catfish on the fly - didn't fight half bad! Tried the beach but the surf was a little too much for the fly rod.

I was wading around the old pilings, using either an 8wt (Redington CPS, Ross CLA 4 with an Airflo Ridge Bonefish line) or a 7wt (TFO BVK, Nautilus FW 7+ and Cortland Little Tunny). The trout came on the 8wt.
My plan is to sell my 12' boat and trailer and probably get a Native Ulimate 12 or 14.5. I used to fish out of a fiberglass Pamlico 10 years ago and now wish I had never sold it.

The Ultimate is a good choice.
