Recent bream flies

Post by bk »

Been on a panfish fly kick recently. Tied up some spun hair bugs as well as some hoppers, spiders, and small gurglers. The panfish have been on fire. Tons of fun tying and catching. Some eyewash

Thanks for posting those. I can't imagine a better way to start a morning than bluegill porn! If I had to pick only one kind of fish to catch for the remainder of my life, it would be a bluegill.

BTW, I use a loop knot for topwaters, jigs and spoons on a spinning outfit but, for whatever reason, never gave any thought to using one on fly rod poppers and flies. Makes a lot of sense.

Those are some impressive sized bluegills. Much fun on the fly! Great job!

I use a loop knot for all terminal connections, only because its the fastest and easiest knot for me to tie. Especially in low light, small diameter lines, and with fading eyesight.
