Forgotten Coast Fly Company

Post by Geoyaker »

Well as for most of us it was a busy summer. Fishing, working, relaxing. I had a busy one. After working with a local Tarpon guide here in Apalach and talking to Tom at Apalach outfitters, I decided to start a "business" tying flies and so far so good. The orders are not stacking up but it keeps me busy and gets me a little change or store credit in my pocket.

The company name is Forgotten Coast Fly Company or FC^2. I do most of my business via Instagram, it's a great place to post pictures of your work. anyway wanted to show you guys and gals some of the flies I have been working on.

this is my version of a bendback. I will probably change the rootbeer hair on top for something else, but I really like the pattern.

This is a pinfish pattern I am working on. it is based off a mullet pattern that produced really well this year for some of the Tarpon guides. I like the Grizzly Hackle to add the stripes.

This is my version of a Seaducer. I use Craft Fur for the tail and marabou for the body. the movement in the water is incredible.

This popper is not mine but I found a guy in Maryland that makes custom poppers so I got this one and he also made a awesome Florida Flag pattern popper for me. The connections you make via Instagram are incredible.

I think I have shown this before but this is my version of the BL Gulf Shrimp. The legs need to be crimped but you can see how realistic it is. This pattern sells like hotcakes at Apalach Outfitters. He can't keep them in stock.
Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water my friend. -Bruce Lee
